"Good things take time. The greatest things take even longer".
This sentence begins to define the brand and company values of Kaweco.
History of Kaweco
Kaweco's history began in 1883 with the production of wooden fountain pens, alongside the import of gold fountain pens from the Heidelberg Pen Factory. The name 'Kaweco' did not appear in their directory until 1889.
In 1908, the first safety fountain pen was patented under the name KAWECO and received a great deal of publicity. Three years later, in 1911, agencies were opened in cities such as Berlin, Paris, Zurich and Vienna, and the company mentioned a pocket pen for the first time. The Kaweco Sport, as we know it today, was born.

Kaweco patents and ranges
Of all its ranges and series, the Sport collection is arguably the most iconic. In fact, their design has barely changed, and they are widely regarded as the world's first travel pens. This is precisely what made them so famous.
With the cap on, they are small, measuring only 10.5 cm when closed, but they become standard-size pens when the cap is placed on the barrel, making them perfect for taking anywhere.
In 1921, the Kaweco brand was transformed into a joint-stock company, and in 1930 it was taken over by the Knust, Woringen und Grube companies. The products of the two companies were merged, resulting in the new logo featuring a circle divided into three with the letters KA, WE and CO inside it. This logo is still used on almost all of their pens today.
Following a period without production after the Second World War, they acquired a licence for the XX Olympic Games in 1971 and launched a themed version of the Sport Set. Their advertising became so widespread that even insurance companies used it.
As early as 2000, Kaweco started building a global sales network with local distributors, overseen by H&M Gutberlet GmbH. Today, its products are available in more than 40 countries.
Thanks to their growth in international sales, they began incorporating some of the models we see today into their catalogue, albeit adapted to contemporary tastes.
Each of their products is manufactured and quality controlled with great care and attention to detail, guaranteeing a functional, high-value design.

In addition to the Sport range, Kaweco has other equally popular ranges, including Supra, Liliput, Dia2 and Original.
Within each range, the catalogue features multiple writing instruments, including fountain pens, mechanical pencils, ballpoint pens, rollerballs, pencils, pencil cases, and accessories such as clips, boxes and refills.
The presentation of all their instruments is calculated to the millimetre. They come in octagonal or round designs that are pleasant to the touch, with colour details that match their name. They are presented in illustrated cardboard or metal cases.
This brand offers a two-year guarantee on all products, with lifetime repairs available.
The options are endless, but all products share the same values: a combination of passion, craftsmanship and timelessness.
