Winsor & Newton Oil Paint Primer Additive 500ml

• Oil Paint Primer is a ready-to-use primer, ideal as a pre-treatment to provide a smooth surface that accepts both conventional oil colours and water-soluble oil colours. It can be applied directly to surfaces such as pre-glued canvas, untreated wood, hardwoods, plywood, paper, etc. without sinking into them. It is recommended to apply several thin coats and let them dry overnight before starting to paint.

• A small amount of oil colour can be mixed with Oil Primer to obtain a tinted primer. The treated surface readily accepts the oil colours without giving a chalky feel or excessive absorption.

• It is important to note that the Oil Primer should be used according to the specific instructions provided by the manufacturer. It is recommended to apply several thin coats and allow adequate drying time before starting to paint.

• The use of a suitable primer is essential to properly prepare the surface before beginning an oil painting. It provides a smooth, even base coat, improves colour adhesion and helps prevent oils from absorbing into the surface.

• Remember to follow the instructions provided by the manufacturer and experiment on small areas before applying Oil Paint Primer to the entire surface.
