• This water-mixable satin varnish is a UV-resistant satin finish treatment that helps preserve your oil painting for longer. By sealing the microscopic pores in the oil paint film, it provides resistance to dirt and grease. It also evens out the sheen of the paint’s surface, giving a satin finish.

• This varnish is ideal for use as a final coat on your artwork. It protects the painting from wear and tear, damage and UV rays, whilst maintaining the satin appearance of the surface. It gives the oil painting a smooth, velvety appearance.

• It is important to bear in mind that the painting must be completely dry before applying the varnish (it is generally recommended to wait 6 to 12 months after finishing the painting). This ensures that the paint is fully cured and ready to receive the varnish coat.

• If, in the future, you wish to remove the varnish in order to reapply it, you can use the Water-Mixable Varnish Remover. This will allow you to safely remove the old varnish and prepare the surface for a new coat of varnish.

• Also, shake the varnish well before use to ensure it is thoroughly mixed and ready for application.

• It is important to note that water-mixable varnishes are also suitable for the final finishing of conventional oil paintings. This means you can use this varnish on artworks created with both water-mixable oil paints and traditional oil paints.
