Hints to help you
As watercolour becomes lighter as it dries, be sure to apply them in a darker shade than you think is appropriate.
Start by applying the lighter colours, gradually adding the darker ones. Tilt the paper slightly towards you and remove any excess water that forms underneath the parts you have painted with a cloth or a damp brush.
Try to use the edge of the brush, not the tip, to cover the paper more quickly with paint.
Prepare more "gouache" than you will need at each stage.
Have a piece of paper ready to check the colours before applying them to the painting and also to see how they will dry.
Work quickly so that the paint does not dry as it is applied and use the largest brush you feel you can handle.
