A perfect introduction to art for children everywhere, The Art Book for Children brings the clarity and innovation of Phaidon's bestselling Art Book to its youngest readers. It is a guide to 30 great artists and their most famous works, designed for parents and children to enjoy together. The book encourages children to look closely and use their imaginations to understand why and how artists create their work.

From Leonardo's iconic Mona Lisa to Andy Warhol's equally iconic Marilyn, and from Jeff Koons' exuberant flower-covered Puppy to Grant Wood's severe American Gothic, 30 artists have been selected from the original Art Book for their importance in art history and their appeal to young children.

Great masters such as Van Gogh, Matisse, Rembrandt, Turner and Velázquez are featured, but The Art Book for Children also offers an introduction to contemporary and challenging artists such as Cindy Sherman and Donald Judd. This book makes this wide-ranging and exciting selection of 30 key artists throughout the history of art clear and accessible for children aged seven and up, but will appeal to readers of all ages.

Recommended age: 7 to 12 years.
