Set 12 Conté Paris Carré for portraits

• Coloured crayons, also known as crayons Conté Paris carrés, are a type of artistic tool used for drawing and colouring. Compared to pastels or charcoals, coloured crayons are generally harder.

• This greater hardness of coloured crayons makes it possible to create sharp, precise lines rather than the softer, blurred look that you get with pastels and charcoals. This makes them ideal for fine details and for drawings that require greater precision.

• The manufacture of coloured crayons involves a rigorous selection of pigments, clay and binder. These ingredients are carefully mixed to obtain a consistency suitable for extrusion. Once extruded, the crayons are dried and then baked to increase their durability and firmness.

• This baking process is important to achieve the desired firmness in the crayons, which prevents them from breaking or wearing out quickly during use.

• In short, Conté Paris carrés crayons are known for their hardness, which allows them to create sharp, precise lines rather than a blurred appearance. Their manufacture involves a careful selection of ingredients and a baking process to ensure their quality and durability.
