Technical description

Reig Wooden-Handled Line Graters

Reig line gravers are precision tools designed to create and reinforce extremely fine parallel lines in engraving, decoration, restoration, model-making and craftwork. Thanks to their specific design, they produce uniform and consistent finishes, adding texture and definition to every project.

Made from high-quality heat-treated steel, these scoring tools offer excellent wear resistance and a long service life, even with intensive use. The set features a comfortable varnished wooden handle that improves grip and facilitates precise control whilst working, whilst a chrome-plated conical ferrule provides a sturdy connection between the handle and the blade.

The range is available in different widths and line spacings to suit varying levels of detail, allowing you to create everything from very fine textures to broader decorative patterns.

Features

  • Ideal for creating and reinforcing high-precision parallel lines.
  • Made from heat-treated steel for greater durability.
  • Varnished wooden handle for comfortable and safe handling.
  • Chrome-plated conical ferrule for a strong connection between the handle and the blade.
  • Suitable for engraving and detailed decorative work.
  • Available in various sizes and pitch configurations.

The pitch indicates the spacing between the lines created by the graining tool. The smaller the pitch, the closer together the lines appear and the finer the finish. Conversely, a larger pitch produces more widely spaced lines and a more visible texture. The width of the tool determines the area covered in each pass.
Furthermore, the width (4 mm, 8 mm or 15 mm) indicates the width of the area covered by the graining tool in a single pass.

The different models of Reig line-pattern sanders allow you to tailor the work to the desired level of detail.
The 4 mm widths are ideal for small areas and precise finishes.
The 8 mm models offer a versatile solution for general work.
The 15 mm models facilitate the uniform scoring of larger surfaces.
Similarly, the narrower line widths (0.3 and 0.5 mm) produce fine, delicate textures, whilst the 1.5 mm line width creates more visible and decorative lines.

Available models:

  • GR-070 (4 mm, pitch 1.5 mm): for creating visible parallel lines and distinct textures in small areas or localised details.
  • GR-071 (4 mm, 0.5 mm pitch): suitable for finer, more uniform lines in detailed work.
  • GR-072 (4 mm, pitch 0.3 mm): ideal for very delicate finishes, subtle shading and high-precision textures.
  • GR-073 (15 mm, 1.5 mm pitch): designed to cover larger surfaces with fairly pronounced parallel lines.
  • GR-074 (15 mm, 0.5 mm pitch): suitable for creating fine, uniform textures over large areas.
  • GR-075 (8 mm, pitch 1.5 mm): an intermediate option for creating visible lines without covering as much surface area as the 15 mm model.
  • GR-076 (8 mm, 0.5 mm pitch): recommended for general projects requiring a fine finish on medium-sized surfaces.
