Emily Hogarth's relationship with paper-cutting began while studying at the Academy of Fine Art in Edinburgh. In this technique she found a quick way to create bold, eye-catching stencils that she could then screen-print. After graduating, he went on to further study the cut-out technique and learnt to apply the designs to the field of illustration and graphic design. She now lives in Edinburgh, where she runs her own design studio, Emily Hogarth Designs, and exhibits her work in the UK. She is the author of Cut this book out! www.emilyhogarth.com
