Linoleum sheet with Essdee mesh

• Linoleum is a material used for stamping on various substrates such as paper or fabrics, which is carved just like a wooden block, but is much easier because it is a softer material.
• Essdee linen plates have a particularly smooth finish so that the resulting print is ideal for both students and teachers.
• They are made with natural ingredients such as linseed oil and finely ground wood, making it biodegradable. It can be used with water and oil based inks and prints well on a wide range of papers, cardboard and fabrics.
• The surface to be printed will be the areas of the linoleum that we have left intact, while we will remove the areas we wish to be left blank with tools such as gouges. The technique is called "relief engraving", because the images are the result of inking a plate in which the drawing is in relief.
• An important thing to keep in mind when using this technique is that the image that will be seen on the paper will be the opposite of how you have drawn it on the linoleum sheet.
• It is very appropriate to obtain images of great expressive force, with thick and aggressive strokes, especially if you use black ink on light paper.
• The plate has a gray color, but you can dye it in the color of your choice before making your design to better see the areas where you are removing the product and see how the design is coming out.
• All plates have a thickness of 3 mm.
