The Kara-ori Rosa cover reproduces a kimono design from the Edo period made of silk dyed with beni - pigment extracted from safflower petals - to which gold lacquer was added. The karaori kimono was used for noh theatre performances. This exquisite embroidery also inspired our Kara-ori design, the first in the Japanese Kimono series.
