One Zentangle A Day
The Zentangle method was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas as a way to practice concentration and meditation through drawing by using lines, marks, circles and repetitive shapes. Each mark is called a "tangle," and several tangles are combined into patterns to create "tiles," or small square drawings.
Each of the six chapters explores a different aspect of Zentangle: -Basic concepts and improvements -Tangles and value patterns -Geometric and organic patterns -Understanding and use of color -Definition and use of style -Create the rest of your Zentangle journey -Each exercise includes new tangles to draw in sketchbooks or on Tiepolo (a paper made in Italy), teaches everyday tile design, offers advice on related artistic principles and contains an inspiring "ZIA" (Zentangle Inspired Art) project that incorporates patterns, artistic principles and new techniques.
Drawing Zentangles is relaxing, restorative fun that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. In addition to its relaxing benefits, a Zentangle practice can also help with self-image, phobias, addictions, pain management, conflict resolution, and overcoming grief.
