Cyanotype Kit from Clairefontaine
Starter kit to make monochrome photographic reproductions on paper.
This technique allows you to create wonderful unique pieces of Prussian blue with inimitable depth.
The method consists of printing a negative impression of an object or document on a paper surface pretreated with a photosensitive solution, exposing it to light for a few minutes.
After washing with water, the area exposed to UV rays turns blue, the area under the object or remained in shadow remains white.
This kit allows you to make the equivalent of 15 A4 sheets by bringing together all the supplies to make beautiful cyanotypes.
The attached brochure is perfectly documented and illustrated, rich in advice and creative ideas.
How to use:
Add water to each bottle to create solutions A and B.
Shake until the powder is completely dissolved.
For best results, wait 24 hours before using.
Mix the 2 solutions in equal volume to obtain your cyanotype sensitizer.
Coat the paper with sensitizer and let it air dry in the dark.
Place an object, or a negative film on its support and expose it to the sun for 3 to 30 minutes.
This Kit includes:
A notebook with ideas and explanations.
Bottle of 5g of green ammonium iron citrate.
2g jar of potassium ferricyanide.
A pair of gloves.
A 20 ml syringe.
A brush.
10 sheets of Clairefontaine 300g Watercolor paper.
The products contained in this kit allow you to produce the equivalent of 15 A4 size sheets.
