Inspired by the traditions of manuscript painting, Illumina is one of the special edition palettes. The collection comes in a custom gift box with nine colours and is available separately or in combination with a handcrafted cherry wood palette, created in collaboration with Tintoretto Brushes.
Some of the favourites in this collection include Lapis lazuli, genuine extra fine, eco-friendly Malachite and a custom pigment, Oro antico, made with a special blend of natural Sienna from Monte Amiata and a warm metallic gold.
Now there is a new exclusive source for premium quality extra fine Lapis lazuli. This exquisite Fra Angelico blue pigment is obtained by crushing semi-precious lapis lazuli stones to a fine powder and extracting the purest pigment in small artisanal batches.
Handmade in Assisi, A. Gallo watercolours are made according to a traditional recipe with pure pigments, gum arabic, local honey, rosemary essential oil and a wetting agent. This artisanal process results in a highly pigmented and luminous paint, which is wonderfully activated by water.
A. Gallo Colors are 100% handmade. The godets may have small imperfections, such as tiny bubbles or slight marks. This does not affect the quality of the paint and is proof of the handwork behind each unique piece.
Caution: Medium godets pose a choking hazard and are not intended for child use. It is also recommended to keep them out of reach of pets.
Safety and sustainability: All A. Gallo Colors watercolours are free of cadmium, cobalt, lead and mercury.
