This process preserves the brilliance and transparency of the colours by preventing them from penetrating the paper. It allows the gouaches to be superimposed and reinforces the resistance of the paper when erasing and scraping, without tearing or shedding lint. It also allows paint to be removed, wet or dry, and easily restores the whiteness of the paper.
ARCHES® Watercolour can absorb a lot of water, and its deformation is limited.
