It is a printing process that consists of reproducing on paper what is drawn with a special ink or fatty pencil (lithographic bar) on the surface of a compact and very homogeneous calcite stone. This calcareous stone has the shape of a thick plate with its two parallel opposite sides and one of them polished very finely and with the edges lowered.
