DecoArt SoSoft Textile Acrylic Fabric Paint 29ml

DecoArt SoSoft Fabric Paint is the softest acrylic fabric paint on the market. It is permanent and does not require heat fixation. Once dry, it becomes extremely soft and supple to the touch. It adheres to all types of fabrics and will not crack, flake or harden, even after many uses and washings.

How to use:

• Pre-wash garment without adding fabric softener.
• Apply with brush, sponge or pad.
• Leave to dry for 48-72 hours and wash inside out with delicate wash programme.
• Hang to dry or dry on low heat.
• Do not dry clean.
• Clean with soap and water.

Using transparent medium:

• Pre-wash garment without adding fabric softener.
• Can be used as a base coat under SoSoft acrylics to allow the paint to slide easily over the surface of the fabric.
• Can be mixed with paint to create transparent or translucent effects.
• Dries clear, soft and flexible.
• Cleans up with soap and water.

Paint on silk:

• Wash and dry the fabric.
• Place a paper towel under the silk layer to be painted.
• Apply SoSoft as desired.
• Dampen the brush with water for details and lines.
• It is not necessary to use resistant media.
• Remove paper towel and dry for 48 hours.

For use as watercolour:

• Wet a surface slightly larger than the surface to be painted with a spray bottle filled with cold water.
• Apply SoSoft with a soft bristle brush.
• Use the same brush to apply additional water to the edges of the colour, brushing across the canvas where the colour meets the clear water area.
• The paint will continue to "bleed" until dry.
• Leave the fabric flat until dry.
• To stop the bleeding sooner, use a hairdryer on the edges to dry the water.

Tips and tricks:

• Do not use bleach or detergents with special additives, such as bleach or lemon scents.
• For best results, use the wet-on-wet technique.
• Let the paint sit on the fabric for a while to allow it to mix well.
• Do not use SoSoft fabric paints with regular acrylic paint on surfaces to be washed. Normal acrylic paints require a fabric medium and heat setting.
• The SoSoft colour names match the Americana acrylics, so you can substitute SoSoft fabric paints for the Americana acrylics in the instructions for projects that require the same colours.
• To prevent the paint from bleeding through the fabric, separate the layers with a piece of cardboard wrapped in plastic wrap, freezer paper or aluminium foil.
• Remove the fabric before it is completely dry to prevent sticking.
