Sorolla's Vision of Spain at the Hispanic Society of America
Archer Milton Huntington, founder of The Hispanic Society of America in New York, commissioned Sorolla to paint the so-called Vision of Spain, a large-scale mural decoration.
Sorolla's works brilliantly combine vibrant Plenarioist naturalism with the strong influence of Impressionism, references to ancient and Renaissance art disguised as everyday life, and even more modern and advanced elements.
All of Sorolla's work is captured in this magnificent eight-metre-long fold-out, in which the works are displayed in the same order in which they can be seen in the library of the Hispanic Society of America in New York.
