• - Characteristics: High quality oil painting varnishes have several functions. They mainly serve to protect the work once it is finished and dry, increasing the resistance of the colours and preventing environmental dust, humidity and climatic factors from damaging the work. There are also specific varnishes that not only protect but also modify the final characteristics of the work such as: the brightness or the luminosity of the tones.
• - Uses: Before applying a final varnish to a work we must ensure that it is completely dry. It is not advisable to varnish an oil painting before one year of finishing. Only in the case of the Retouching Varnish that time can be from 3 to 6 months.
• - Tip's: Varnishes must be applied in a ventilated and dust-free environment. It is ideal that the work is in a horizontal position.

Oil Gloss Varnish

• - Characteristics: Varnish composed of a dilution of synthetic resin in essences. It dries quickly and provides a transparent, glossy film.
• - Uses: Specially indicated as a final varnish. It is applied using soft, flat, wide, quality brushes. In the case of aerosols, they should be applied regularly at a distance of 20/30 cm from the work.
