Jesús Ordovás and Patricia Godes have produced the first illustrated guide to the Madrid of the Movida, an era that they experienced first-hand, recovering the memory of the urban spaces and meeting places of that unrepeatable generation: its bars, concert halls, radio stations, record shops, record labels, art galleries...
The guide offers a tour of all the capital's neighbourhoods, from the most central and famous, such as Malasaña, Lavapié and Barrio de las Letras, to other lesser-known but equally important ones, such as Prosperidad, La Elipa, Carabanchelo and Vallecas.
In each chapter, a protagonist from those years is interviewed and tells us about his or her relationship with a particular neighbourhood and tells us, with anecdotes and curiosities, what places he or she frequented and what was cooking in those areas.
Also included are very special routes written by two living myths of La Movida: La ruta de Almodóvar and La ruta de Alaska. Written with humour and a touch of melancholy, Pedro Almodóvar and Alaska review the places that most marked them during those years. And all this accompanied by an interesting selection of photographs, many of them unpublished, and maps of the different areas.
