Tarlatana fabric for engraving and printing techniques.
Tarlatana is a type of stiff and rough fabric originating in India. It is a fabric similar to muslin made from cotton or cotton with polyester.
The fabric has a lot of sizing, you have to wrinkle it and rub it to make it lose that hardness. With use it will become softer.
It is used to spread and remove excess ink from the plate to be stamped.
With the hardness of its fibers, it removes excess ink and because of the softness it acquires when molded, you can use it as if it were a fine gauze so as not to damage the matrix.
Also suitable for the use of other techniques such as collage, fashion, binding...etc.
