Jacquard Cyanotype Set

Cyanotype is the printing or stamping process using sunlight, one of the earliest photographic techniques discovered in 1842.

It is used to produce monochromatic prints with Prussian blue finishes.

Harness the power of the sun to make detailed prints of virtually any object that casts a shadow: tools, toys, plants, leaves, stones, sand, string, lace, etc.

Recommendations for use:

• For best results, mix both components and wait 24 hours before use.
• Check the printing process from time to time in case any shadow or element interferes, to avoid unwanted results, as the part not exposed to the sun will remain white.
• The set contains: 0.8 oz of Potassium Ferricyanide (Part A) and 1.9 oz of Ferric Ammonium Citrate (Part B).

How to use the Jacquard Cyanotype Set?

1. Make two separate preparations of each component with distilled water, avoiding contact with sunlight at all times: 0.35 oz of Part A with 3.4 fl oz of water and 0.88 oz of Part B with 3.4 fl oz of water (stir homogeneously).
2. Mix equal parts of both preparations in another container and stir.
3. Apply the product onto the desired surface with a brush or paintbrush and allow to dry.
4. Place the object (acetate print, leaves, branches, shells, etc.) on the sensitised surface and expose it to sunlight (UV) for at least 30 minutes.
5. Rinse the printed support thoroughly with water until no yellow residue remains.
