The essence of lavender comes from the distillation of male lavender. It gives unctuousness to the brushstroke. It has a higher solvent power than Turpentine, which favors a greater bond between the layers.
Its higher cost and marked odor limit its use. It is also applied as a thinner in porcelain colors. Use with care and moderation.
