Luna Luna The Art Amusement Park

A seminal book documenting the first-ever art amusement park, which opened in 1987 in Hamburg, Germany, in anticipation of its global reintroduction.

In the late 1980s, more than 30 of the most acclaimed artists of the time - including Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Hockney, Roy Lichtenstein, Salvador Dalí and Keith Haring - designed unique and fully functional fairground attractions for the original park. These included rides, interactive sculptures, shows, performances and music.

Each artistic contribution is documented with photographs showing the artists in action, details of their works and the context of the exhibition. This book offers access to rare pieces that have not been widely seen for 35 years and is published for the first time in English with an updated preface.
