The Alhambra, the monumental complex of Granada, is a reality of water, poetry and sky written by Manuel Mateo Pérez and illustrated by the artist Aixa Portero.

The Alhambra in Granada, one of the most dazzling heritage sites in the world, was the royal house of the last Hispano-Muslim dynasty. Twenty-four sultans ruled there before the entry of the Catholic Monarchs. Water is the lifeblood of a monument hailed by poets, musicians and painters throughout the ages. It was the favourite destination of romantic travellers and on the walls of its palaces are written the questions and answers of a planetary space that continues to surprise us with its unbridled beauty and modernity.
