Although we would like to map it in detail, the human body has always resisted offering us a definitive map of itself. All we have of him are scraps and scraps, invitations to digression and daydreaming. The essayist Pablo Maurette and the artist Julio CƩsar PƩrez have embarked on this cartographic adventure, assuming in advance the defeat of all universal pretensions and have composed an atlas of the body as fragmentary as it is dazzling: an itinerary that uses the history of science and of the history of art, but also of the detail and the particular, of the prosaic anecdote, of wonder and melancholy, to invite us to reflect on the material of which we are made.
