Art History without Men

How many women artists do you know? Who makes art history? Were there women artists before the 20th century? Who were the pioneers who paved the way for today's female artists? How many women are in the permanent collections of major museums?

In an exciting history of art, Katy Hessel, art historian and founder of the podcast @thegreatwomenartists, presents, among others, the dazzling paintings of the Renaissance painter Sofonisba Anguissola, the radical works of Harriet Powers in the 19th century, or the story of the fascinating Baroness Von Freytag-Loringhoven, who invented the concept of found art long before Duchamp. We will travel through the Dutch Golden Age, contemplate the astonishing work of post-war Latin American women artists and meet the women who are defining what art is today.

Prepare to forever change your perspective on art history and open your eyes to many previously ignored or underappreciated art forms. From the Cornish coast to Manhattan, Nigeria to Japan, this is a history of art as it has never been seen before.
