Reig Wood-Handled Texturing Tools

Reig graining tools are specialised tools for creating uniform textures and grain patterns in artistic and technical engraving work. Their design features a serrated, rounded blade that allows regular patterns to be created on the work surface, facilitating the preparation of plates and the achievement of consistent finishes across different engraving techniques.

Made from heat-treated hardened steel, they offer high wear resistance and a long service life. The varnished wooden handle provides a comfortable and secure grip whilst working, whilst a chrome-plated steel ferrule connects the handle to the blade to ensure great robustness and stability in use.

The range is available in different widths and line densities, allowing you to choose the most suitable tool depending on the size of the surface and the type of texture you wish to achieve.

The line per millimetre (L/mm) specification indicates the density of the tool’s teeth. The higher the number of lines, the closer together the marks are and the finer the grain obtained. Conversely, a lower density produces a more open and visible texture.

Furthermore, the width of the tool (25 mm or 40 mm) indicates the surface area it can cover in a single pass. The 25 mm models are suitable for more precise work or smaller surfaces, whilst the 40 mm models allow larger areas to be covered quickly and evenly.

The 25 L/mm versions produce more pronounced and visible textures. The 33 L/mm models offer a balance between detail and coverage. The 50 L/mm versions are designed to achieve finer, more uniform and high-density finishes.
