Watercolour Box

When it comes to practicality, we can talk about watercolour boxes. Although buying individual pans or tubes is quite common, a watercolour box or set is often better value for the product itself and for convenience or storage.

Features of watercolour boxes, kits or sets

Their compact, portable designs are an advantage for anyone who enjoys creating outdoors or simply needs to travel and take them along. They can be plastic, wood or metal.

They come in countless sizes, but how many colours do you need? You can achieve the full colour range with just the primary colours, though this can be a little challenging for beginners.

At Hartem we offer cases, boxes, kits and sets of watercolours from 6 to 48 pans, as well as tubes or pans.

Our recommendation is to choose the option that best suits your needs and the works you plan to create. Or, you can always build your own palette with individual watercolours and add them to an empty tin.

We can highlight brands such as Daniel Smith, Sennelier, Sakura or Kuretake, among others.

We will consider a few features when buying: transparency, pigment quality, lightfastness, staining and granulation.

Gouache Boxes

If you need a more consistent and opaque medium, the ideal choice is gouache (or tempera).

Like watercolour, they are water-soluble, but they have a creamier texture and greater covering power. They are often used together with or to complement watercolour.

We offer gouache or tempera as single colours, sets or cases made from plastic, cardboard, metal or wood.
