Charbonnel Lefranc and Bourgeois engraving varnish in ball form
Hard black engraving varnish in 1 ball format.
Manufacture of the varnish: Judea bitumen, wax.
Dry extract: 100%.
Hardness: soft.
The appearance of this ball varnish is matt opaque.
Consistency: pasty.
After applying the varnish, the surface must be levelled with a buffer before smoking.
Smoking refers to the technique of heating the varnished surface so that the varnish darkens and a matt appearance is obtained. This brings out the details of the tip work, making them more visible.
It is important to be sure to follow the proper instructions and practices when using this technique, as it can vary depending on the type of work and materials used.
