Artistic Anatomy 7: Muscled bodies

The aesthetic of muscular bodies is deeply rooted in our culture. From the mythological characters of antiquity to the superheroes and superheroines of today's comics, films and video games, muscular overdimension offers us a surprising repertoire of forms, which we also find in the sculpted bodies of athletes. Nearly 400 detailed drawings of the different muscles, with special attention to the proportion of their fibres. A comprehensive overview of the functional anatomy of human musculature organised into four sections: head and neck, torso, upper limbs and lower limbs. Keys to understanding muscle building movements through a wide range of examples based on different body types and muscle formations.
