Art Thieves

An absorbing read that sheds light on one of the world's most lucrative and unknown crimes: art theft.

Almost as old as humanity itself, art theft dates back to the origins of the first great empires. Since then, they have fascinated and repelled us in equal measure, but what is behind them, why is art stolen, what happens to the stolen pieces, does commissioned theft really exist and how does the black market in art work?

We will find the answers in this fascinating journey through fifty thefts and lootings that have determined the course of history. But, above all, we will try to answer the greatest enigma of all: why, despite the fact that most of us are on the good side of history, do we find them so fascinating?
